I love those yellow and black Van Dykes so much. They’re like a giant bumble bee — dangerous but commanding of respect.

I agree — and that the coating on the Van Dykes, especially during the ’30s and ’40s, was quite thick and very smooth. 10 to 15 coats, if I recall the article correctly.
